So here is my update....I was so sick, I had to go home. Friday, March 29, I went out onto the job site and found Cory and just broke down in tears and told him I needed to go home. I was not getting better and I knew I wouldn't here. He agreed and told me to go book a flight. I came back to my office and looked for flights. I was originally looking to fly out Saturday or Sunday but it saved me $1200 to fly out Friday so I booked it. I told Blaise and Cory that and they said, "today is Friday" and for some reason I thought it was Thursday. I had to go home immediately and get my passport and get to the airport. Cory came with me and was able to sit in the lounge with me while Dona got me checked in. I just sat there and cried...because I hurt, because I was stressed and because I didn't want to leave Cory.
I made my first 2 1/2 hour leg of the journey, on Airlink, to Johannesburg where I had a 5 hour layover. Having shingles around my torso was miserable for the flight. There was no one sitting next to me on this flight so I was able to spread out a bit.

When Cory first came to Africa, he saw a chess set that was carved out of wood and stone. It has animals as the pieces. He didn't buy it and regretted it, even though neither of us play chess!!!! Every time we go through the airport we look for it. We haven't had any luck until this trip. They had one left! I was able to buy it and get it home for him. Now we need to learn chess!
The next 10 1/2 hour leg of my trip was on Virgin Atlantic to London where I had another 5 1/2 hour layover. I landed at 4 in the morning so it was pretty empty. As you travel to new countries you have to collect and recheck your baggage. I only had a carryon so I thought it would be easy. They made me take anything liquid out of my bags and put it in a quart size Ziploc. That included my travel size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, spray deodorant, hand sanitizer, perfume, lotion, toothpaste, mouthwash and Lysol. It all didn't fit so I had to throw away anything that wouldn't fit. I was so ticked.
The last 10 1/2 hour leg of my trip was on Delta. I splurged and got the Delta Premium Select Plus seats and the food was awesome! I got the Mushroom, Cheese and Truffle Tortellini! I didn't get a picture of it but we also had tea time where they served us finger sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, jelly and beverages. It was really good.
Even though it was a last minute flight home for me, my family had over 30 hour to prepare for me. My parents, Kaylee, Katie and the puppies picked me up and I burst into tears when I got in the truck! Chad had called in a prescription for me to pick up that day. Between being on the right medicine and having pain medicine so I could sleep, I started feeling better within 7 days!
When I got home, Kaylee had the funniest balloon waiting for me! She also was shocked at how pale she was!
I went over to Salem to the doctors and stopped in to see Shar and Riley. Then I made a stop to visit Ashley Boo...someone had left cute rocks and a cat!
