Ashley's 19th Birthday

Saturday, March 9th, was Ashley's 19th birthday.  It was an emotional day for sure...the milestone days are.  One thing I am grateful for is my Savior's atoning sacrifice that I am able to utilize to make it so I am able to realize that even though this is by far the hardest thing I have ever had to go through as a parent, I am able to continue on knowing God has a plan. I am eternally grateful for my family and the knowledge I will be with them eternally.  I got so many messages throughout the day that made my heart happy.

My family here had a BBQ and Leonie made cupcakes and we sang happy birthday to Ashley.  It was a tender mercy.  I couldn't be back home with my family and friends, but my friends here made it a perfect day.  I wish I had taken more pictures!

Leonie brought a South African dish that I was skeptical about but tried and it was delicious!  You wrap bacon around a cherry and BBQ it.  She used green cherries, which I didn't even know existed! Amelia made a beet salad with beets, red onion, peppers, apples, and mayo...again, I was skeptical, I HATE beets, but I tried it and it was really good!

Mpenzi was waiting for any sort of food to drop on the floor.

Kaylee sent a picture, she and Aaron were on their way to visit Ashley with her favorite drink and have a picnic. I wish I was there with them!
