Fall Break...Let's Go Swimming

Amelia's kids are doing online school from back in the states and it is there Fall Break. As we all know, there isn't anything to do here so we were out on the driveway visiting and watching the kids ride their bikes.  There is a pool in town that we could go to but it's $15 dollars per person, which we would have done but we don't have a way to get there!

Sisca & Morne's house has a pool in our compound.  They are on holiday in South Africa, where they are from, so we text and asked if we could go swimming in their pool.  They are totally fine with it!  The only problem was, it has been sitting for 2 weeks without anyone is it or taking care of it.  There are no covers for pools here and the amount of dust around here is insane so it gets in the pool and settles on the bottom.  The first picture is of the pool before anyone got in.  We were trying to figure out the vacuum, but couldn't so we decided it didn't need to be clean, it was 92 and we wanted some relief! The deep end wasn't too bad but the shallow end's floor was a solid layer of dirt.

The rest of these pictures are after we got in and stirred up the dirt.  I said it is no different than swimming in a lake and it felt wonderful! The kids loved jumping in the pool, I took a bunch of videos of them, then screenshot the tricks.  Ella had a death grip on either me or Amelia. She eventually warmed up to it and loved it!

Of course, I had to snap a couple of pictures of the flowers around the pool...they remind me of Hawaii!

Snack time!  These were chips and the I was hesitant to try the chocolate ones but they were actually good.  They were sweet, and I was expecting salty!
