Salsa & Ice
The other day we stopped by the store to get some water and found some tortilla trips. Now...I LOVE salsa! Like, I crave it. So when I saw the salsa on the chips, I immediately started craving Joe Bandito's Salsa. Sadly, that is not an option, so I tried to make some homemade salsa with what I could find.
Produce here is hit and miss (along with electricity, power, clear skies...) When I got to the produce isle, they were putting out fresh tomatoes so I grabbed some as well as some garlic (I found one that wasn't already sprouting). There was no cilantro, jalapenos, or peppers so I would make do. When I got home I chopped up the tomato, garlic and an onion. Seasoned it with salt and pepper but it was still missing something. I had some pineapple in the fridge so I diced that up as well and threw it in and that made a difference. I was able to have chips and salsa!
Cory and I love having ice in our drinks, and no one here can understand that. It's just like Europe, everyone likes room temperature drinks. We have this silicone ice cube tray and I make ice daily so we can have nice, cold water/crystal light (which I brought from home and will need to restock in December!)
