First Visit to the Hospital...Don't Worry!

Part of getting your work Visa is you have to get checked out at the hospital.  They took our vitals, did a physical exam, took x-rays of our chests, checked our hearts and took blood.  The hospital is a Canadian Hospital and it was very nice!  One of the doctors that helped us was Canadian, white, and spoke English! That was a first! Her name was Dr. Sam and she has been here for 5 years. She gave us pointers on learning French, which we have started to do!  Hopefully with practice and prayers it will come quickly.

Cory on his way back from giving blood!

In the lab waiting to get my blood drawn.

Cory (on the right) is practicing his driving, so he wanted to drive back from the hospital.  Like I said earlier, it is crazy here on the streets.  This is Cory trying to turn left.  There are no stop signs or traffic lights, you just make your way out and honk!  So much honking.  You can see people are just pushing though and Cory isn't use to that so he waits.  Blaise, our driver (on the left) laughs and reminds him to just go! We told Blaise about horn usage back in Utah and if you use it, you are usually mad at someone but here, it is just to let people know, you are here and coming through.  Blaise wants to try and come to Utah and his dream is to visit Temple Square.  I hope he gets to one day!

If they do a construction project here, they just leave the mess.  Here, they have dug a ditch along the side of the road and they have lined it, nicely, with rocks.  All the dirt and rocks they excavated for the ditch is just left on the side of the street so it takes up the width of a car, the whole length of the street.
