Early Westland Christmas Party

Image
We celebrated our team early this year. This was really the only time we could do it because of so many other things planned and visitors that will be coming. We had it at Casa Mia, and Sisca, Leonie and myself went early to decorate.  Because Sisca moved here from Ghana, and doesn't really have a "home" back in South Africa, she has all her Christmas decorations here. Everyone was here except, Blaise. He had gone home for a break.  She found these cute jars at Hypo Psaro! Her Santa from Ghana! I am having Richmond bring me back one! Cory, Me, Sisca Nephi, Richmond Dona, Jessica Leslie, Nephi Trent, Ruwex Darius and Leonie Ragheb, Morne, and Sisca The Food! Bruschetta Chicken Schnitzel Lasagna Panne Cotta I love how they light up the yard at Casa Mia

Couple Things From Site...

Image
Two things from being on site yesterday. First off, it is between 34-37 degrees Celsius here right now. (93-98 Fahrenheit).  Throw in the humidity and it is quite hot.  There are so many workers that are dressed for cold here.  I had to laugh to myself when I saw this guy with the hood to a winter coat on under his hard hat! We were in need of a place to plug in multiple tools.  Cory made this and put on all the outlets. Now the problem is keeping the tools plugged in and the phone chargers out.  The workers most likely don't have electricity at home so they charge their phones at work.

Beautiful, Flowering Trees

Image
One thing I love here is all the beautiful flowers and trees here.  Across the street from the office is the Belgium School.  Every week, I fly the drone to get pictures of the job site and in order to get the whole site I have to back the drone up over the school. This is risky, because it is illegal here to fly a drone except over your own property.  I can see this beautiful, red tree over their fence everyday as I leave the site and yesterday.  As I was getting the shots yesterday, I took advantage of the school being closed for Fall Break and shot a picture! Here is an update from Google Maps of the job site!  It is much further along, but I can't post those pictures!

Christmas Temple Painting

The latest project I'm working on is a Christmas Salt Lake Temple painting. Here is the progression. I finished...and I love it!! Cory wants to frame it, and I think we will hang it at Christmas time!

Weekend Recap

Image
Friday evening, we went over to Darius and Leonie's for the evening.  They built a fire and we sat and visited while Darius cooked some sausages for dinner.   Saturday morning, I needed to walk so I walked back and forth on our driveway for 35 minutes!  It was boring but felt good to be moving.  While on my "walk", Morne was getting ready to take the kids fishing at the yard!  They were prepared for the day...so cute!!! One of the things we discussed Friday night was waffles!  None of us have had them since we have been here.  A plan was made to have waffles the next night for dinner...as long as we could find a waffle iron. Darius found one at Jambo...for $60!!!! (It also came with plates to switch out for donuts, and other things).  He got one for us and one for him, and we had them over for waffles and games.  We taught them Sky Jo. The only picture I got of this night was my Be Real!

I Decorated

Image
I brought back quite a few cross stitching projects for me to do here.  My fist to complete was a Halloween decoration, which I have proudly hung up!  I feel festive! LOL
