Hiatt's in the Congo

 Luan loves tractors and construction just as much as Cory.  I found a game that he gets to build equipment with and then do construction jobs with the equipment he built.  He gets to play it on the ride home and he loves it!

 Leonie turned 28 on Friday, June 21 so we threw here a little surprise party. She is obsessed with Minnie Mouse and Disney, even though she has never been to anything Disney.  I told her, I get to be with her when she goes for the first time. We found a bakery here that makes cute cakes and then we made appetizer food.  It was a fun night celebrating Leonie!

 Sisca and I decided we needed to have a progress wall.  I was going through the drone pictures of the site and was amazed at how far we have come in 11 months...thus the idea was born!  I ordered some borders and had Ben bring them.  Sisca cut out the words on her Cricut. I didn't measure correctly the first time and had to take down all the pictures and reprint, with the correct measurements. I love how it turned out! Everyone who comes in the office stops and looks at it and are  amazed as well!

 Trent makes the most delicious pizza ever!  For Ben's last night, I asked Trent if I go buy all the pizza item's you need, will you make pizza...and he agreed!  We all got our own, personalized pizza! I need to get his recipe.

 There are quite a few expacts living here that we have gotten to know.  Sisca had the idea to throw a Father's Day braai for everyone since we are so far from family.   She had all the wives send pictures of their husbands with kids and then had the kids write a letter.  Kaylee wrote the sweetest note to Cory, we both teared up. The whole crew! All the dads! Wayne, Greg, Morne Luan taking Simi for a ride!   Penzi had a friend come and it took them a bit to get used to each other! Sisca is so creative and made these cute gifts for the dads! She has a cricut, and now I want one!! Leslie, Darius, Richmond Cory, myself, Ben Wesley, Laura, Kayla, Steven Steven Sisca & Leonie  

 The new Chief of Justice is wanting to get rid of all the shanty's that are illegally built as stores.  When you turn off the main road to go to our house, there were about 10 lined up along the street.  Friday afternoon, the police came and tore them all down, to nothing.  All that is left is a pile of garbage.  It is so sad.  They are literally everywhere and the police are sweeping the city, tearing them all down. 

 Cory and I are not as adventurous at finding new places to eat.  When we have management from Westland visiting, the team goes out to dinner. That is when we find new places.  A new restaurant called Tip Top just opened up last month so we went there.  I ordered pasta with mushrooms, spinach, and bacon.  Cory got his stand by chicken strips and french fries.  Always fun to have a night out and to visit with everyone!

 For awhile, I have noticed water in our shower hours after we had taken a shower.  Then it started going onto the floor and through the wall into the stairwell.  We called Poppy, our landlord, and he sent some plumbers over.  Houses here are built out of blocks and there aren't really any plans to look where the pipes would be, so it is a guessing game.  The plumbers ended up breaking 4 holes into our shower before finding the leak.  It was a quick fix, but now comes the daunting task of repairing the blocks and finding matching tiles to fix the shower!
